Senior Product Designer — AI-Native

  • Full Time Job
  • On-site
  • $100,000 - $180,000 nzd
ArchiPro

We’re looking for a unicorn. Not because we want someone who can do ten different jobs.

We’re looking for someone who has fundamentally changed the way they work.

You started as an exceptional UX/UI or Product Designer. You understand users, obsess over experience, have extremely high standards for visual design, and know your way around Figma.

But somewhere along the way, you started using tools like Claude Code.

And it changed what you were capable of. Instead of stopping at a Figma file and handing your designs to an engineer, you started building them yourself.

You prototype in code. You iterate directly in the product. You can take an idea from a conversation to a beautifully designed, working experience at a speed that would have seemed impossible a couple of years ago.

If that sounds like you, we want to meet you.

About ArchiPro

ArchiPro is a global platform transforming how people build and renovate. More than 600,000 people use ArchiPro every month to discover the products, professionals and projects behind exceptional architecture and design.

But what exists today is only part of what we are building. Our ambition is to create the digital infrastructure behind the entire building journey, helping homeowners, architects, designers, builders and product suppliers move from inspiration and discovery through specification, collaboration and ultimately the delivery of a project.

AI has fundamentally changed how quickly we can build that future. And we are changing the way we build our product because of it.

The role

We are looking for an exceptional senior Product Designer who can design and build. This is not a traditional design role. You won't spend weeks creating perfectly documented Figma files before handing them across to an engineering team.

We want you much closer to the product.

You might start with a problem like:

How should a homeowner manage an entire building project through ArchiPro?

Or:

How could an architect manage products, specifications, samples, suppliers and project information from one place?

From there, we want you to understand the problem, map the experience, explore the possibilities, design the interface and then use AI development tools such as Claude Code to start building it directly within the ArchiPro environment.

You will be able to see what you have created working in the actual product, use it, challenge it, improve it and keep iterating.

Our engineers remain an important part of that process. They will work alongside you to ensure what we build is robust, secure, scalable and consistent with our engineering architecture.

But you won't be waiting for engineering to turn every idea into reality. You will build.

What makes you different

  • You are an exceptional UX/UI designer first.
  • You understand hierarchy, typography, interaction, simplicity and how to make complicated things feel intuitive.
  • You care deeply about the details most people don't notice.
  • But you have also embraced AI development. Claude Code, Cursor or similar tools aren't experiments sitting on the side of your workflow. They have fundamentally changed your workflow.
  • You can move comfortably between Figma and code.
  • You understand enough about modern web applications to work inside a real codebase, use existing components and design systems, connect interfaces to existing functionality and turn your thinking into something people can actually use.

You don't need to be the world's best software engineer. That's not what we're hiring you for. We're hiring you because you combine something that has historically been difficult to find in one person: Exceptional product thinking. Exceptional design taste. And the ability to build.

You will work closely with our product and engineering teams, but you'll have significant autonomy to explore ideas and bring them to life.

You might be right for this role if

  • You have significant experience in Product Design, UX/UI or digital product design.
  • Your portfolio demonstrates exceptional visual and interaction design.
  • You are highly proficient in Figma.
  • You are already actively building products with Claude Code, Cursor or similar AI coding tools.
  • You are comfortable working directly within an existing codebase.
  • You understand enough front-end development to build sophisticated product experiences.
  • You think deeply about the user before thinking about the interface.
  • You can take an ambiguous problem and turn it into something simple.
  • You move unusually fast without lowering your standards.
  • You have strong product instincts and don't need someone to specify every screen for you.
  • You are excited by the idea of owning the journey from problem → experience → design → working product.

Why this role exists

Something has changed in product development. The distance between having an idea and putting a working version of that idea in front of a user has collapsed.

We have already seen inside ArchiPro what happens when a great designer embraces this way of working. The quality goes up. The iteration cycle gets dramatically shorter. And designers are able to explore ideas that previously would have required significantly more engineering resources just to test.

We believe this is going to become one of the most valuable profiles in modern product teams. Rather than wait for that future, we're building our team around it now.

If you've already made that transition yourself, we'd love to see what you've built.
