Hectre is the global leader in Fruit Quality AI, on a mission to support the long-term viability of food production for people and the planet. We bring AI to fruit quality and farm management across the supply chain, driving automation and interoperability with simplicity and practicality at the forefront.
Since 2016, we've grown from humble beginnings (digital bin tickets!) to serving some of the largest fruit growers and packers across 22+ countries, scanning over 3.8 billion pieces of fruit. Our products span orchard management, harvest tracking, timesheets, payroll, analytics, and industry-leading fruit sizing and color grade AI solutions for apples, cherries, pears, and citrus.
We're a multi-award-winning company, recognized with AgTech Breakthrough Awards (2021, 2022, 2023), Stevie Awards for Best Customer Service and Most Innovative Tech Start-up, and the UPL Tech Innovation Award. Backed by deep-tech VC Nuance Connected Capital, we're scaling globally and building the future of agtech.
About the role
We're looking for a Software Engineer to join our product engineering team. Mobile is at the heart of how our customers use Hectre — in the orchard, in the packhouse, and everywhere in between. This is a full-stack role where you'll work across the entire product surface, with a strong emphasis on mobile experiences, backed by robust backend services and web applications.
At Hectre, engineers don't work in silos. You'll move fluidly between codebases, collaborating with product, design, and customer success teams to ship solutions that matter. We value action over analysis paralysis, and we iterate continuously rather than waiting for perfection.

Don't tick every box? We'd still love to hear from you. We hire for mindset and trajectory as much as for current skills. If this role excites you and you're a strong engineer who's hungry to grow, reach out.
How we work with AI
AI isn't a checkbox for us — it's genuinely changed how we build software. Our engineers use AI tools as part of development every day: writing and reviewing code, navigating unfamiliar codebases, debugging, writing tests, and exploring ideas faster than would otherwise be possible. We're looking for someone who's already in that mindset. You don't need to be an AI expert, but you should be someone who reaches for these tools naturally, gets real value from them, and is excited about where this is heading. We're a team that's actively exploring how AI augments engineering — the right person will want to be part of that evolution.
