Open Point

At Open Point, we work with organisations responsible for some of the most important infrastructure and policy decisions affecting communities. Our clients generate large volumes of engagement data — from surveys and consultations to stakeholder engagement records — but often struggle to turn that data into clear insights.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with real-world data and helping organisations understand what their engagement efforts are actually telling them. In this role, you’ll work alongside experienced engagement practitioners while bringing strong analytical thinking, visualisation skills, and curiosity about data.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across a wide range of projects, helping clients make sense of complex engagement data while also contributing to how we evolve the analytics capabilities of the Open Point platform.

About Open Point

Open Point is a market-leading community engagement and stakeholder management platform operating in a rapidly growing global sector.

Our software helps governments, infrastructure operators, and consultants engage communities and stakeholders in meaningful ways. Across Australia, North America, and Europe, organisations use Open Point to gather input, track engagement activities, and demonstrate transparency around projects that impact communities.

As engagement programmes grow in scale and complexity, so does the importance of understanding what engagement data actually reveals. Open Point helps clients turn consultation data into insights that inform real-world decisions about infrastructure, policy, and community outcomes.

The Role

We’re looking for an Engagement Data & Insights Lead to join our Enablement Team and help transform engagement and consultation data into clear, meaningful insights for our clients.

In this role, you will work closely with engagement practitioners and clients to analyse stakeholder engagement data, build compelling reports and dashboards, and help organisations understand what their consultation activities are telling them.

You’ll pair with subject-matter experts in stakeholder engagement while bringing strong analytical and visualisation skills to the team. Together, you’ll deliver analytics and reporting services that help clients demonstrate outcomes, identify trends, and improve their engagement strategies.

This role supports client engagements through analytical deliverables and reporting. Some engagements may involve fixed-scope deliverables, while others may be quoted or ongoing analytical work. You will also collaborate closely with our Product team to help shape future analytics capabilities within the Open Point platform — bringing real client data challenges and reporting needs into product discussions.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with real-world datasets, exploring patterns across different types of engagement data, and turning complex information into insights that people can understand and act on.

Please note that you must have permanent full-time work rights in Australia to be considered for this position.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Partnering with engagement practitioners to deliver analytics and reporting services for client projects.
  • Analysing data from engagement platforms, surveys, and stakeholder engagement records to identify patterns, trends, and insights.
  • Designing dashboards and visual reports using tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Developing and applying stakeholder engagement metrics based on underlying engagement records.
  • Working with datasets drawn from multiple sources including surveys, engagement platforms, and other channels such as written submissions, phone records, or social media inputs.
  • Transforming fragmented or unstructured datasets into clear, structured outputs for analysis and reporting.
  • Working with APIs and other integrations to assemble datasets for analysis.
  • Communicating analytical findings through visualisations, written summaries, and presentations.
  • Collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to share insights from client analytics needs and influence future analytics capabilities in the platform.
  • Contributing ideas for new ways to analyse engagement data, including benchmarking and cross-project insights.
  • Supporting a range of analytical and operational tasks as the Enablement Team continues to grow and expand its analytics capabilities.

About You

  • You’re naturally curious about data and enjoy digging into complex datasets to uncover patterns and insights.
  • You’re comfortable working with both structured and messy data and enjoy the challenge of turning raw information into something useful and understandable.
  • You have strong visualisation and storytelling skills and take pride in presenting data in ways that help people understand what it means.
  • You’re collaborative and enjoy working alongside subject-matter experts, bringing analytical expertise into conversations about real-world engagement projects.
  • You’re comfortable working in a growing team environment where you may need to roll up your sleeves and contribute across a range of analytical and reporting tasks.

Experience & Skills

  • 3–5+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, analytics consulting, or similar roles.
  • Strong experience with BI and visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and working with structured datasets.
  • Experience analysing survey data, consultation data, or other feedback datasets.
  • Experience working with APIs, data extraction, and data cleaning to assemble datasets from multiple sources.
  • Experience working with both structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Ability to translate analytical findings into clear visual or written narratives.
  • Experience working with SQL, Python, or R is desirable but not required.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis or basic NLP approaches for analysing text data is a plus.
  • Experience working in government, infrastructure, consulting, or related sectors is helpful but not required.
