Lyka was founded in 2018 by Anna Podolsky, inspired by her dog, Lyka, who was suffering from chronic health issues despite being on “premium” kibble. Together with Gabriel Guedes (COO) and Dr. Matthew Muir (Integrative Veterinarian), they built Lyka from the ground up with one core belief: better food can radically improve a pet’s healthspan and quality of life.

Lyka’s meals are vet-formulated and gently cooked from real food ingredients. Delivered via a flexible subscription model, Lyka meals have driven remarkable improvements for tens of thousands of customers, supporting gut health, reducing intolerances, improving energy and mobility, and even promoting hair growth.

What began as home-cooked meals has since scaled into one of Australia’s fastest-growing consumer companies, a vertically integrated, tech-enabled brand that is transforming pet health nationwide.

Lyka now operates from two offices, Sydney (HQ) and Melbourne, with three state-of-the-art food production facilities (two in Sydney, one in Melbourne) and a growing national footprint.

At Lyka, we’re not just selling pet food—we’re pioneering a new standard of wellness for pets. With strong product-market fit, deep customer love, and a track record of rapid growth, we’re now entering our most ambitious chapter yet: building a generational brand and category-defining business with global impact.

The Role:

This is a big opportunity for a social-first creative who wants to build something from the ground up, not just plug into an existing machine.

We’re launching a new pet food brand with serious ambition, real purpose, and a lot of attitude. You’ll be part of a small, mighty team where ideas move fast, experimentation is encouraged, and you’ll see the impact of your work in real time.

This role sits right at the intersection of creativity, culture, and performance. Where instinct meets data. Where ideas don’t just look good, they actually work.

If you think fast, move faster, and love turning raw ideas into scroll-stopping content, you’ll feel very at home here.

You’ll report into the Creative Director and work closely with a cross-functional project team to bring ideas to life across organic and performance channels.

You’ll own social content end to end. From idea, to shoot, to edit, to post, to learn, to iterate.

No endless approvals. No red tape. Just making great work and making it better every week.

What you will do:

In this role, you’ll own the planning and execution of monthly content across organic and performance channels, shaping the creative ideas that bring the brand to life. You’ll take those ideas from concept to execution, shooting, editing and posting social content that feels native, timely and genuinely engaging.

You’ll write UGC-style scripts that are scroll-stopping, culturally relevant and built to convert, working closely with customers, creators, designers and editors to produce high-quality content at pace. You’ll stay close to audience behaviour, social trends and performance data, using insights to constantly evolve what you create and why it works.

You’ll partner with the performance team to understand what’s landing, what’s not, and how creative can do more heavy lifting. Just as importantly, you’ll share weekly and monthly learnings with the wider team to raise the overall creative bar.

This is a hands-on role. You’ll be in the content, behind the camera, or leading production when needed, staying close to platforms, culture and trends to make sure everything we put out feels relevant, real and worth watching.

What we are looking for:

  • Collaborative, agile, and thrives in ambiguity and test-and-learn environments. You’re keen to be hands on and support where needed.
  • Experience in social creative content creation, ideally in a startup or fast-moving brand environment
  • A proven track record of creating high-engagement, high-performing creative content across paid, UGC and organic platforms
  • Deep understanding of social and performance stream ecosystems — you’re ahead of the trend cycles and platform updates
  • A dynamic blend of creative and strategic mindset. You’re comfortable interpreting creative performance data and translating it into creative action
  • Chronically online - you spend more time online than most, trending sounds creep their way into your conversations, you know what drives the algorithm and what doesn’t
  • Be comfortable in starring in content with cats!
  • Animal lover. You have a deep passion for the health and wellness of pets.
