Auror

At Auror, we’re empowering the retail industry to tackle theft and Organised Retail Crime, a $150 Billion problem globally. It’s high volume crime that’s increasingly organised in nature and is putting people, retailers, and communities at risk every day.

Founded in New Zealand 13 years ago, we’re working with some of the best and largest retailers in the world across the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.

Auror is connecting people and intelligence to reduce crime. We’re using technology for good.

In partnership with our leading retail partners, we need people with the passion, determination, and innovation required to overcome one of the world's largest problems. If you’re looking to make a difference with and for the people dedicated to stopping crime, for good, then we want you on our team.

We're also embracing the potential of AI to supercharge our impact—whether that's enhancing the way we detect trends, support our customers, or improve internal workflows. As a company, we're committed to responsibly incorporating AI into how we work and what we build, and we encourage all Aurors to be curious about how AI can elevate their work, regardless of role or function.

The Role

As Director of Product Marketing, you’ll lead the strategy, storytelling, and go-to-market execution for our products — ensuring every product, feature, and message connects our mission to measurable impact.

You’ll own positioning, product storytelling, and competitive intelligence across our product suite and Connected Ecosystem. You’ll guide how we take new innovations to market, equip our teams to sell with confidence, and ensure our customers and partners clearly understand the value of being part of the Auror network.

This role sits at the intersection of Product, Sales, and Marketing, connecting insights to outcomes and strategy to revenue.

You'll be responsible for:

Positioning, Messaging & Market Intelligence

  • Lead product positioning and messaging across the Auror platform and ecosystem.
  • Create and maintain messaging frameworks and value propositions tailored to buyer personas and customer journeys.
  • Own competitive and market intelligence — distilling insights into actionable strategies and battlecards.
  • Partner closely with content, comms, and demand generation to create meaningful product stories and ensure our audience connects with our product value proposition.

Persona Development & Buying Journey Mapping

  • Define and evolve our key personas (Retail, Law Enforcement, Partners) and align messaging to their specific buying triggers and value drivers.
  • Map content, enablement, and demand strategies to the customer journey for each persona.

 Product Launches & GTM Strategy

  • Drive integrated go-to-market strategies for new products and major feature releases — from positioning and pricing to campaign enablement and measurement.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Demand Gen, and Sales to execute launches that move the needle on pipeline and adoption.

Enablement & Technical Readiness

  • Build battlecards, objection handling, and feature-level talk tracks for Sales and Account Managers.
  • Own product-related content, training, and internal enablement to ensure every Auror team member can confidently articulate value.
  • Partner with Product and Customer Success to drive product adoption and customer value realization.

Analyst & Ecosystem Relations

  • Lead analyst relations strategy — ensuring Auror is represented and recognized in key reports and rankings.
  • Support the Connected Ecosystem strategy with clear positioning, collateral, and partner enablement content.

You’ll be reporting to Heather Gadonniex, Chief Marketing Officer.

I’ve spent the last two decades helping growth-stage companies find their focus, align their teams, and build go-to-market systems that scale without losing their magic. I’m an operator and builder by nature, and I love co-creating clarity with teams and setting a high bar for performance and purpose.

I’m passionate about helping marketing teams become market makers and revenue engines, not just service departments. I’m also a big believer in unifying cross-functional teams around a common vision and operating cadence, maintaining collaboration and strengthening culture as we grow. At Auror, I’m excited to recruit team members that thrive in collaborative environments and want to play a critical role in shaping our next chapter of our growth.

About you

You’re a strategic storyteller and systems thinker who loves turning complex technology into compelling, human narratives. You have a deep understanding of enterprise SaaS and B2B go-to-market motions. You’re hands-on and commercially minded — as comfortable crafting positioning and messaging as you are rolling up your sleeves to build launch plans, battlecards, and enablement content that drive impact.

This role can be based in our Denver or Auckland office.

You likely have:

  • Experience scaling a B2B SaaS product in the US market through the $25M + USD growth stage, and an understanding what it takes to move from product–market fit to category leadership.
  • Deep experience in enterprise go-to-market environments with long deal cycles, multiple stakeholders, and complex value propositions.
  • A proven ability to market technically sophisticated products (ideally machine learning–based or data-driven platforms) translating complex technology into clear customer value stories.
  • A strong understanding of how ecosystems, integrations, and partnerships amplify product value, and an ability to bring interconnected platform stories to life.
  • Hands-on experience building positioning frameworks, messaging architectures, and sales enablement tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and familiarity with operating and storytelling for US audiences.
  • High drive and motivation. You bring energy, curiosity, and a hunger to build and make an impact.
  • A collaborative mindset and desire to work closely with Product, Sales, and Demand Gen to connect insight to action.
  • A preference for working in a hybrid rhythm. Ideally three days a week in the office for connection and collaboration.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary range: Depending on level of experience and location, a salary of $150,000 - 170,000 (NZD) or $160,000 - $185,000 (USD).
  • Annual bonus: Eligibility for a $7,500 NZD bonus at the end of the financial year if we’ve hit our revenue goals together.
  • Employee share scheme: You’ll own part of a company making a real difference!
  • Flexibility: We are hard-working and outcome focused, but recognise there is more to life than work. We promote a healthy work/life blend.
  • Shorter work weeks (at full pay): Everyone gets Friday afternoons off, so you can start your weekend early, and do more of whatever it is that makes you happy.
  • Focus on mental and physical health: We understand how vital our health is and have policies to support your wellness, including Wellness Days,  and up to $750 NZD / $500 USD for expert sessions every year.
  • Family-friendly: We offer comprehensive paid parental leave - 12 weeks for birth parents and 6 weeks for non-birth parents following birth, adoption, or surrogacy, available to all Aurors from day one.
  • Personal growth: We support our team to participate in courses, conferences, or events that will help them develop their skills.
  • Team love: We have regular team lunches and social events where most (if not all) activities are during work hours.
