Are you seeking a technical role that combines people leadership within a dynamic global business? We’re looking for a Mobile Chapter Lead to join our team and help grow and modernize our existing mobile products and engineering processes while leading a team of mobile engineers in New Zealand.
About the Role:
As EROAD continues to expand globally, we’re seeking an engineer to develop innovative mobile applications that involve complex problem-solving and building features far beyond simple user interfaces.
The role primarily focuses on Native Android development using Java and Kotlin, including Kotlin Multi-Platform (KMP), while also offering exposure to multi-platform technologies such as React Native. This role requires to work from office three times a week.
Some aspects of the role:
Shapes the strategy and standards for EROAD’s mobile engineering discipline
Hires and on onboards engineers
Coaches and develops mobile engineers across squads
Ensures consistent delivery of high-quality, maintainable, and performant mobile apps
Champions mobile UX, platform integrity, and engineering best practices
Drives collaboration across frontend, backend, and design teams
Skills and Experience:
We’re looking for someone with a minimum of 5+ years' experience. You may come from Mobile engineering background and possess skills such as:
Mobile Engineering Expertise: Deep knowledge of mobile platforms and SDKs (Kotlin, Java, KMP) and/or cross-platform solutions (React Native, Flutter, KMP)
Architecture & CI/CD: Experience with mobile architecture, modularisation, mobile CI/CD, and dependency management
People Leadership: Ability to coach, mentor, and manage mobile engineers to grow capability and impact
User-Centered Design: Solid understanding of mobile UX/UI, accessibility, responsiveness, and performance
Security & Compliance: Understanding of secure data storage, encryption, authentication, and platform guidelines
Collaboration: Skilled in stakeholder management, cross-functional alignment, and clear communication
