Lyka was founded in 2018 by Anna Podolsky, inspired by her dog, Lyka, who was suffering from chronic health issues despite being on “premium” kibble. Together with Gabriel Guedes (COO) and Dr. Matthew Muir (Integrative Veterinarian), they built Lyka from the ground up with one core belief: better food can radically improve a pet’s healthspan and quality of life.
Lyka’s meals are vet-formulated and gently cooked from real food ingredients. Delivered via a flexible subscription model, Lyka meals have driven remarkable improvements for tens of thousands of customers, supporting gut health, reducing intolerances, improving energy and mobility, and even promoting hair growth.
What began as home-cooked meals has since scaled into one of Australia’s fastest-growing consumer companies, a vertically integrated, tech-enabled brand that is transforming pet health nationwide.
Lyka now operates from two offices, Sydney (HQ) and Melbourne, with three state-of-the-art food production facilities (two in Sydney, one in Melbourne) and a growing national footprint.
At Lyka, we’re not just selling pet food—we’re pioneering a new standard of wellness for pets. With strong product-market fit, deep customer love, and a track record of rapid growth, we’re now entering our most ambitious chapter yet: building a generational brand and category-defining business with global impact.
What you'll do:
We're hiring for a Senior Product Designer in our Product Growth team. In this role, you'll work on fast-moving projects that aren't always clearly defined. We need someone who can spot real customer problems, find solutions, and test them quickly to see what works.
This is a senior individual contributor role with no direct reports. You'll work with a talented team to help customers get the most out of what we offer, improve our products, and decide what to work on next.
You'll partner with product, engineering, and data teams to test ideas and learn fast. This helps us make better decisions about what we bring to market.
Insights into how customers interact with your experiences will help us understand where our strengths and weaknesses lie and where we might need to focus next as we work to become the leading choice for pet nutrition in Australia and beyond.
We’re looking for someone who thrives on turning ideas into impact, a designer who’s just as comfortable exploring the problem space as they are crafting the solution. You’ll proactively spot opportunities, set direction based on real customer insights, and move work forward with minimal hand-holding.
From discovery through to launch, you’ll lead end-to-end design across our biggest growth initiatives, collaborating closely with product, engineering, and cross-functional partners to bring ideas to life, fast.
You’ll use research, experimentation, and data to guide decisions and accelerate learning, while upholding a high bar for design craft through beautiful visuals, thoughtful prototypes, and cohesive user experiences. Along the way, you’ll mentor others and help shape a culture that values craft, speed, and shared ownership.
What we are looking for:
You’ve thrived in high-growth product environments and have the results to show for it, shipping work that’s made a real impact. You’re comfortable with ambiguity, able to carve a clear path forward that balances speed with thoughtful, customer-led design.
You bring focus and clarity to fast-moving teams, grounding decisions in what matters most to the user. Collaboration comes naturally; you work hand-in-hand with product, engineering, and data to move ideas from insight to reality.
You research and test lean, learn quickly, and let those learnings guide your next move. You care deeply about solving real customer problems in ways that last, and your portfolio reflects that: a mix of complex challenges, iterative thinking, and strong, human-centred design craft.
