We’re looking for a Data Engineer with a passion for continuous learning in an ever-changing and challenging technology landscape, who wants to deliver outstanding code and results.

Sitting in Vista’s Data Architecture team, you'll be working on cutting edge technology and tools to support our wider engineering and data science initiatives across the business. This role will also contribute to data engineering best practices with respect to data science projects.

About the role

  • Develop software tools and infrastructure to enhance data engineering practices
  • Collaborate closely with Vista data science to accelerate deployment of data science initiatives
  • Implement Vista coding standards, patterns and practices and contribute to defining these standards
  • Identify complex problems, investigate, evaluate and discuss possible options, implement agreed solutions
  • Explores and generates new approaches, frameworks or solutions to work-related issues
  • Actively Integrate generative AI into your work practices
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Data Science teams to integrate their development practices into data engineering workflows.
  • Develop familiarity with a range of Vista applications, products and the business processes behind them, particularly those products interacting with Data Science initiatives
  • Actively apply product and process knowledge to problem-solving and solution development
  • Share knowledge and actively contribute to the training of others, where required and appropriate
  • Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technology and best practices
  • Coach and mentor junior team members in a positive way to facilitate their growth and development

About you

  • The ability to build efficient and elegant code solutions to complex, real-world problems
  • Passion for data, software engineering and Generative AI
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Proficiency in using generative AI to assist with accelerating daily workloads
  • Knowledge of data systems, ETL tooling and good coding practices
  • An excellent understanding of modern software engineering techniques, practices and patterns and their application in real world software scenarios
