We’re on a mission to reduce the mental load for families worldwide. PAM (Personal Admin Manager) is a family assistant designed by parents to help parents manage the mental load of family life.
Last month we grew from 5,600 to 16,000 users, hit #1 Free App in NZ App Store with an NPS of 64, and secured our first round of investor funding. We’re impacting lives, moving fast and have massive ambitions.
Here's what PAM does:
- Manages family communications: Forward emails, screenshots, PDFs, and voice memos to PAM, and she automatically creates events and tasks from them.
- Creates smart organisation: PAM turns the chaos of family admin into a shared calendar and to-do list that the whole family can use.
- Helps share the load: Family members can be invited to your PAM Village to see what's happening and offer help.
- Reduces mental load: 25% report that the stress from their mental load dropped by 70%.
We’re looking for a Flutter developer with a passion for simple digital experiences that make a difference in the world to join our team. Your code will directly reduce stress for thousands of parents - having a real impact on families.
We’re a small team that moves fast and favours action and learning over perfection. We prioritise our families over work, we constantly crack jokes and have hearty debates about what’s best for our users (even if it means it’s harder to build).
We lean heavily on our values of Support, Fun and Integrity to decide what we build and how we work together every day.
Here are the areas that you will lead and own:
- Our Dart codebase and any native iOS/Android code that supports device-specific integration.
- The API integration, local data persistence, and state management architecture.
- The app UI is designed to ensure an efficient and smooth experience.
- The strategy and execution into more touchpoints like widgets, desktop and other offerings we add for mobile and web.
We’ll need you to speak to examples in your career where you've led technical decisions on app architecture and your rationale. We also want to hear when you were able to identify issues and implement ideas without being asked to do so.
You’ll collaborate on (someone else will own the execution, but you’ll have heavy input):
- Django/AWS backend
- API design
- AI and Agent implementation and experience
- Design direction
- Strategy to expand our offering around the globe
We want to hear how you have worked with non-technical team members to solve complex problems and how you’ve influenced product decisions through technical insights. We’re also keen to hear how comfortable you are getting your hands dirty with our backend and infrastructure.
You’ll be involved in (areas where we all collaborate):
- Ongoing roadmap
- Ideation and R&D (we regularly take time to push the boundaries)
- User interviews and dabble in customer support to help identify and address bugs and improvements.
Tell us about your ability to think globally, how you personally relate to our users and why you enjoy the work you do.
You will:
- Have 3+ years of building production Flutter apps with real users
- 7+ years working commercially, ideally on a customer-facing app or service.
- Experience with app store releases, OTA releases (i.e. Shorebird) and processing user feedback
- Have a love of code refactoring (and leaving the place tidier than you found it!)
- Be comfortable with code reviews, testing strategies, and technical documentation
- Be organised, proactive, thrive in a collaborative environment and take initiative working independently
- Be a natural communicator with strong relationship-building skills
- Be comfortable with ambiguity, able to juggle multiple priorities and remain cool under pressure
- Be curious, driven, and always look for ways to improve
- Be based and eligible to work in New Zealand (citizen, resident, visa holder etc)
We can offer you:
- Permanent full-time or part-time (parent-friendly)
- NZ$120k - $140k pro-rata salary with share options
- Fully remote/time flexible work arrangements
- A team that trusts you to do your best work and support our families
- An understanding environment for parents who need to work around family life.
- Being part of the wild ride of a female-founded, Kiwi Start-up
- A strong GIF game (some of us better than others
You must be based in NZ and have valid working rights for NZ (e.g. visa, residency, citizenship).
