Our mission is to change how our food is produced, for good. We do this by implementing our Computer Vision-based AI platform inside food and protein production plants. This platform allows cameras to “see, learn and act” like humans do. Our platform helps improve safety (both for food and the employees who produce it), quality, yields and efficiency within production facilities. We also provide end-to-end traceability from farm to fork.

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to support our computer vision-based Artificial Intelligence platform in a highly collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Actively participates in all Agile Scrum development ceremonies.
• Works as part of the team to understand, breakdown, size and implement user stories.
• Consults on designs to identify and reduce complexity wherever possible. Takes desired qualities into account from requirements (robustness, performance, re-usability etc).
• Follows Lumachain’s coding practices and design patterns.
• Provides constructive guidance to peers in software development.
• Ensures code meets required standards of quality, including efficiency, maintainability, reliability, and terseness and fitness for purpose.
• Tests programs appropriately during and after construction. Balances testing effort according to the risk of changes. Uses appropriate testing techniques. Works together with testers to ensure the application is sufficiently tested (and testable).
• Is responsive to production issues as required.
• Uses development tools effectively. We use Visual Studio Code, JIRA, Git, Azure Devops etc.
• Keeps the team informed of progress. Escalates issues appropriately when roadblocks are reached. Manages time efficiently and is considerate of the time of others.

Experience and Competencies

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• A minimum of 5 years hands on experience as a Software Engineer.
• Strong experience/knowledge with .Net core and Angular
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or as a part of a team with other developers, managers, and the rest of the business.
• Continuously seeks to improve technical skills in the areas needed to perform work tasks effectively. Keeps abreast of new technologies and ways of doing things. We run at a fast pace.
