Cohabit is an AI-powered building health platform based in Sydney, NSW. The platform digitises strata records, building information, pricing data, and industry benchmarks to create interactive health scores, smart dashboards, and comprehensive building histories.
About the Role
As a Technical Lead, you will drive the development of scalable infrastructure and the evolution of our internal platforms. You’ll guide a team of engineers, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, and play a pivotal role in boosting product velocity, streamlining operations, and maintaining high system reliability.
You’ll be both a hands-on technical expert and a supportive leader, helping drive best practice, coach engineers, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver robust, secure, and efficient solutions.
What you will be doing
- Leading a team of engineers, providing mentorship, setting goals, and fostering a DevOps culture.
- Design and maintain scalable, secure cloud infrastructure to support rapid innovation.
- Drive best practices in CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, observability, and platform engineering.
- Collaborate with Product, Data, and Design to align on priorities and deliver impactful outcomes.
- Champion continuous improvement, manage tech debt, and ensure system reliability.
What we are looking for in a team member
- Proven experience leading high-performing engineering or platform teams.
- Strong hands-on skills in cloud platforms (AWS), Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform.
- Proficiency in DevOps tooling, CI/CD, and monitoring (e.g., Prometheus, OpenTelemetry).
- Programming experience in Ruby on Rails, React JS or similar.
- Excellent understanding of security, cloud architecture, and developer productivity tools.
Bonus Points
- Experience in a startup or fast-paced environment.
- Background in building distributed systems, data pipelines, or machine learning infrastructure.
- Contributions to open-source projects or technical blogging/talks.
