As a Portainer Product Specialist, you will blend technical expertise with trusted advisory to build Portainer competence within Nebula Data. Acting as the internal face of Portainer, you’ll work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Engineering to position Nebula Data as the leading Portainer authority outside of Portainer itself.

You’ll also represent Portainer to large organizations in China using container technologies, helping them envision better container management and guiding successful implementations. As the technical face of Portainer, you’ll consult through the sales cycle, removing blockers, answering complex questions, and demystifying Kubernetes and Docker.

You’ll maintain strong post-sale relationships, ensuring customer success, expansion, and renewal.

This full-time, permanent role is based in New Zealand with an initial 6-month secondment to Guangzhou, China. We’re seeking a native Mandarin and native English speaker to support and grow our enterprise client base in China.

What you’ll do:

• Represent Portainer as a trusted technical advisor to enterprise clients
• Build strong relationships with key organisations during a 6-month assignment in China
• Provide tailored support to clients working with Docker, Kubernetes, and container technologies
• Collaborate with internal teams to support sales activity and technical delivery
• Become the in-house expert on Portainer within the Nebula Data organisation

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is New Zealand-born or raised, and deeply familiar with both local and global business environments
• Is a native speaker of both English and Mandarin
• Has a strong technical understanding of containerised environments
• Brings experience in pre-sales, solution consulting, or technical account management
• Is confident engaging with enterprise stakeholders and presenting technical concepts clearly
• Is open to a 6 month secondment to China or a neighbouring region, and willing to return to work from New Zealand thereafter
• Is proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work across multiple functions within a fast-moving company
