Whip Around was born in 2016, originally to help freight companies in New Zealand tackle their paper-based compliance burden. It was whilst working for some of the globe’s largest freight companies, that we saw first-hand how much time paper was costing fleet managers every day.
Within a year, the US market was calling loudly as Whip Around met a clear pain point for businesses with fleets.

We’re looking for someone who’s not just a thinker, but a doer. Someone who can roll up their sleeves, dive into the detail and make sure our people processes are working as they should - from onboarding, and policies to performance and day-to-day problem solving. This role is about being in the thick of it, helping managers navigate challenges and making sure our employees feel supported and set up for success.
What you'll be doing:
Core HR Delivery:
- Be the first point of contact for all people-related queries; from contracts to policies to pay and performance
- Guide managers through key moments in the employee journey -performance reviews, learning and development, exits, engagement surveys and more)
- Manager and continuously improve HR processes to make sure they are efficient, consistent and employee friendly
- Support the offboarding processes included exit interviews, handovers and compliance with ISO27001 requirements
- Prepare people data insights for leadership and board reporting
Recruitment & Onboarding:
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for open roles, working with hiring managers to scope, post, screen and coordinate interviews
- Support hiring decisions with sound HR advice and ensure a smooth, positive candidate experience
- Lead onboarding processes to make sure new hires feel supported, informed, have clear 30,60,90 day plans to be set up for success from day one
People Partnering:
- Partner closely with leaders to support team dynamics, coaching them on people management and providing support where needed
- Help navigate employee relations issues calmly and constructively, ensuring fairness consistency and compliance
- Maintain a clear, up to date understanding of employment law and workplace obligations relevant to our locations
Culture & Engagement:
- Support initiatives that strengthen our culture, engagement, recognition and team connection ensuring we have the right initiatives in place to support a high performance culture
