Principal Objectives
As Vista Group transitions existing on-premise customers to our cloud platform, the Cloud Solution Consultant is a critical role responsible for ensuring migrations are scoped accurately, risk is identified early, and delivery is efficient and predictable.
This role leads the discovery process and owns the end-to-end solution design. You’ll identify how customers are using our platform, uncover customisations, and translate this into solution design documentation that supports effective project delivery and scope control. This role helps avoid last-minute blockers and ensures customers and internal teams are fully aligned before delivery begins.
This role will support the regional delivery team once the project is underway, stepping in to assist solving issues that arise and creating solutions to keep the delivery moving.
Key responsibilities
Project Planning & Pre-Sales Support
- Support the S&P team during pre-sales phases by identifying risks or gaps early in the engagement
- Reviewing the customer pipeline and understanding required discovery engagements as well as early identifying technical risks in the pipeline
Discovery & Solution Design
- Execute Discovery 1: run and interpret scripts (SQL, PowerShell) to gather technical details across the customer’s Vista environment.
Facilitate Discovery 2: conduct structured workshops with customers to document key functional usage, integrations, and any bespoke configuration.
- Personally complete Discovery documentation — gather insights internally where possible, and engage with customers for detailed clarification where needed
Documentation & Scope Definition
- Create comprehensive Solution Design Documents that feed directly into project scoping, SOW creation, effort estimation, and risk identification
- Use SharePoint, Wrike, and other internal tools to maintain structured, up-to-date, and collaborative documentation
Stakeholder Collaboration & Project Delivery
- Participate in internal kick-off meetings to align with project managers, sales, and account directors on scope and customer context
- Present findings in Discovery Review Meetings to all stakeholders, including Product, Delivery, Sales, and Engineering leadership
- Collaborate closely with development teams and engineering managers to validate scope, identify required development, and inform resourcing plans
- Stay connected to the Delivery team as the project is progressing, and step in to assist when design challenges present themselves
Ongoing Process Improvement & Refinement
- For any issues that are identified or uncovered during the delivery, ensuring that we are doing a lessons learned so that we can improve the process for the next project
- Continuing to challenge how we do discovery, and finding new ways of automating or capturing risks as early in the process as possible
Requirements
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience implementing Vista software — ideally through customer-facing delivery or rollout of our on-premise products
- Alternatively, candidates with a strong business analysis background will be considered if they have:
- Deep functional knowledge across Vista’s product suite, and
- Solid understanding of cinema operations and industry-specific workflows
- Strong technical literacy: ability to read SQL, interpret environment configurations, and troubleshoot data output from discovery scripts
- Demonstrated experience leading discovery or design workshops with enterprise customers
- Clear, professional writing and documentation skills
- Familiarity with project tools like Wrike, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams
Preferred
- Experience with cloud migration projects or enterprise software implementations
- Understanding of integrated systems such as payment gateways, loyalty platforms, or digital channels that commonly interface with Vista
- Awareness of Empowerment requirements and customer infrastructure dependencies (e.g., timezones, internet access, allow-listed services)
Ways of Working
- Discovery execution timelines can vary; some may be completed intensively in a few days on-site, while others will unfold over several weeks
- You’ll work closely with globally distributed teams, often supporting multiple customer projects in parallel
- Must be comfortable working in ambiguous or evolving environments, adapting documentation and scope iteratively as more information becomes available
- Some travel may be required for on-site discovery or customer workshops
