Linktree
Linktree is a leading platform that empowers users to centralize their online presence, streamlining how they connect with their audience across various channels. As our company grows, so does the complexity and importance of ensuring a safe and engaging environment for our diverse user base.

We are seeking a skilled Backend Software Engineer to join our dynamic Content Moderation Team. In this role, you’ll be working with a small team of Software and Machine Learning Engineers in developing and maintaining backend systems that detect and action violative content uploaded to our platform.

What You’ll Own:

  • Our Content Moderation platform capabilities, scanning all content shared on Linktree for violations of our Community Standards and implementation of our Trust & Safety team’s policies
  • The build, deployment, infrastructure, testing and monitoring of our deployed and running service
  • Processes for scanning content for violations and either automatically moderating it or queueing it for review if required
  • Tooling used by our Trust & Safety team to review trends in content being uploaded and review content flagged as potentially violative
  • Standardised interfaces between the Content Moderation team and the rest of the Linktree organisation to communicate content being uploaded, classified, detected as violative and moderated to enable consistent integrations with all teams
Who We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information and Technology or equivalent and 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Prior experience with backend software development (We use Typescript primarily but experience with any equivalent language is fine)
  • Prior experience building services with open source web application frameworks (e.g. Spring, ASP.NET, ExpressJS, Symfony, NestJS) and object oriented programming
  • Prior experience managing the cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, build, testing and monitoring of containerised backend microservices
  • Prior experience developing and designing event-driven and synchronous systems
  • Willingness to contribute to the front-end tooling used by the Trust & Safety team (we use a third party platform enabling us to develop this tooling using a building-block framework)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and a passion for helping other teams
Preferred Experience, Not Required

  • Experience working for SAAS companies
  • Experience building self-service tooling and platforms
  • Experience managing AWS cloud infrastructure with their CDK
