The Team
Sumday is an early stage company, we completed a seed round in March this year. You’ll be joining a small yet mighty product team, including two incredible designers, an excellent QA and five brilliant developers, lead by our CTO and one of Sumday’s co-founders.
The role
We’re looking for an experienced and collaborative developer to join our team and help us drive our mission forward. As a key member of the team, you’ll help create magic under the guise of accounting software!
You’ll play a critical part in the development process and will be involved from ideation, discovery through to delivery. You’ll have strong technical skills and and be comfortable identifying and communicating technical opportunities and risks.
This position demands a blend of technical skill, creativity, and ideally, a passion for moving the needle when it comes to sustainability.
What you’ll bring:
The successful applicant will have:
- Strong experience in building high-quality web apps with high standards for code quality.
- Demonstrated ability to develop backend services with an understanding of best practices in coding and architecture.
- The ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
We’re looking for:
- Solid experience in Flutter and Dart, or similar frameworks and a willingness to adapt.
- Good experience in .NET
- Experience in Integration and Unit Tests
- Experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions
- Knowledge + experience with IAC technologies e.g. Terraform
- Knowledge of Azure specifically Function Apps and Static Web apps
- SQL Server knowledge would be great but can consider most RDBMS experience
- Experience in pub/sub messaging will be highly regarded
- Experience working with generative AI or performance/scaling also regarded

We’re a remote team but we’re building hubs to make getting together easier. Ideally you’re located in Australia (Tasmania, Melbourne, Sydney) or NZ (Auckland or Queenstown) - but don’t let that stop you from applying, we’re always open on this.
