About the Role:
 
As Head of Data, you will be pivotal in advancing Envato’s journey towards becoming more data-driven and expanding our data capabilities across the business. You will develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with our business goals and integrates seamlessly with other key strategies like analytics, product, marketing, and technology. You will lead the efforts to build robust data foundations, including governance, infrastructure, and engineering, and advocate for data as a critical asset that drives decision-making and business growth.
 
In this role, you will also collaborate closely with product, analytics, and engineering leaders to ensure data contributes meaningfully to Envato’s success. You will champion a data-driven mindset across the organization, applying best practices to overcome challenges and embedding this culture within your team. Additionally, you will play a significant role in securing investment for data initiatives and ensuring that data remains at the forefront of strategic decisions at Envato.
 
What you'll be doing:
    • Develop and execute a data strategy that supports Envato’s business goals and objectives.
    • Oversee the design, implementation, and operations of a robust data platform, ensuring it meets business outcomes and adheres to service levels.
    • Establish and enforce data governance practices for quality, security, and compliance.
    • Manage technical risks and balance commercial versus technical decisions.
    • Evaluate and recommend data technologies, tools, and platforms to meet current and future needs.
    • Champion innovation and keep up with emerging technologies to contribute to best practices.
    • Lead complex data projects, manage stakeholder interactions, and ensure projects align with business goals.
    • Track project progress, address roadblocks, and oversee release processes to meet operational standards.
    • Foster a positive team culture, support career development, and promote high performance.
    • Build strategic relationships with key data vendors and manage resources to optimize cost and performance.
    • Cultivate key internal relationships with direct and indirect reports, heads of analytics, engineering, product, and marketing teams, along with cross-functional peers, and engage with external suppliers, vendors, and consultants.
About you:
    • Proven experience (10+ years) in a senior data leadership role, within a digital business or technology-driven organisation of global scale.
    • Expertise in modern data platforms, cloud technologies, and leading large-scale data transformations while mentoring high-performing teams and delivering high-quality solutions.
    • Demonstrates the ability to create and communicate a clear, long-term data vision for the future.
    • Aligns data strategy with business goals, showing the impact of data on revenue, cost, and customer satisfaction.
    • Possesses thorough knowledge of data regulations, compliance, and best practices.
    • Works effectively with others, leveraging diverse skills to achieve exceptional results and drive innovation.
    • Communicates complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, promoting transparency.
    • Builds support for data strategies, influences stakeholders, and secures necessary resources.
    • Is passionate about transforming data capabilities and improving business performance with measurable results.
    • Seeks and acts on feedback for continuous improvement, showing professional self-awareness.
    • Upholds honesty, fairness, and transparency, in line with company values.
