Role

We are looking for a well-rounded Finance Manager with software/SAAS experience to join our group finance function, serving an Aviation Portfolio of Vertical Market SAAS companies. Reporting to the Senior Group Finance Director at Arcadea Group, this individual will manage the day-to-day accounting and reporting for a portfolio of companies located across New Zealand, Australia and the USA.  

We are looking for someone who can optimise processes and systems to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting as well as lead and support 3 direct reports. This individual will be a business partner to the leadership team, assisting with board level presentations that provide thoughtful analysis, identify action items and effectively frame decisions that need to be made.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the month-end closing and financial reporting processes for the portfolio, with an emphasis on timely, accurate and insightful results and analysis
  • Manage AR/AP, revenue recognition, inter-company, consolidation, payroll and other transactional/accounting operational processes with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Provide direction and leadership to the finance function, partnering with the Senior Group Finance Director and department leads to understand inputs and strategic plans to deliver sound insights into the performance and future direction of the business
  • Identify and research variances to forecast and prior year expenses, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with business partners and cross-functional teams at all levels of the organisation
  • Work with local advisors to support corporate tax preparation, government grant programs, and external audit, ensuring our compliance responsibilities are up to date across all portfolio companies (tax and annual reports)
  • Support the annual external audit and reviews to maintain accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Support ERP and other system enhancements/implementations as required
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CA/CPA/ACCA or equivalent required.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in financial management, preferably within the software industry or technology sector with a sound understanding of software accounting matters.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis techniques, and regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced Excel and experience using accounting platforms such as Sage Intacct and Xero.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and persuasively.
  • Strategic mindset with a focus on driving business results and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture
  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects across an organisation
  • Experience with or understanding US-GAAP and specifically ASC 606 would be considered an asset
