So what’s the gig?

Kolmeo is on the hunt for a Core Platform Engineer who will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing our core technology platforms. You will have a strong foundation in Microsoft technologies, particularly .NET, Azure Cloud Services, and MS SQL, and will be responsible for ensuring reliability and efficiency of our platforms, facilitating seamless operations and support for our business functions.

A day in the life of a Core Platform Engineer:

  • Monitor and maintain the health, performance, and security of applications built on the .NET framework and hosted on Azure
  • Administer and optimize MS SQL databases, ensuring high availability and performance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues, including performance bottlenecks and system failures, in a timely and effective manner
  • Implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for .NET applications using Azure DevOps
  • Collaborate with development teams to support and enhance the architecture of new and existing applications
  • Manage Azure resources and services, optimizing cost and scalability
  • Provide technical support and guidance to users and stakeholders, ensuring optimal use of the platform
  • Document system configurations, processes, and procedures for internal use and compliance purposes
  • Stay updated with the latest technology trends and updates in .NET, Azure, and MS SQL to recommend improvements to the platform
  • This position requires occasional after-hours support and may include on-call responsibilities.

To hit this job out of the park, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a support engineer role focusing on .NET and Azure environments
  • Strong expertise in MS SQL Server administration and tuning
  • Proficient with Azure services such as App Services, Azure SQL Database, Azure Active Directory
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation
  • Solid understanding of network configurations, including security settings and other cloud service integrations
  • Effective problem-solving and execellent communication skills, attention to detail, time management & prioritization skills, and motivation to learn
  • It would also be desirable if you had experience in GraphQL and Kubernetes.
