We are growing rapidly and as such we need a Power BI Specialist who is a legend at managing commercial reporting data and information to assist us with driving the commercial success of Petdirect, by taking our business intelligence capabilities to the next level.
  
This role will be the champion of our internal data ingestion, engineering and modelling and will be the gatekeeper of our reporting integrity and consistency. The successful candidate will be an expert at PowerBI administration and working with their internal stakeholders and dev team to manage change and foster continuous improvement in our data capture and reporting. 
  
The role would also prepare and maintain our standard (daily, weekly and monthly) business reporting, along with responding to ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests. Not content with just publishing reports, your curious mind will see you dive deeper to investigate trends, anomalies and variances to help improve business performance and ongoing reporting.
  
This is a full-time, 40-hour-a-week permanent position working Monday-Friday from our Head Office in Kingsland.
  
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
  
You will be the Data Engineer / PowerBI Administrator of our commercial information, responsible for:

  • Ingestion, processing and modelling of data from internal systems including our eCommerce platform, ERP system and WMS.
  • Creation of datasets and tables for the serving of standard business reports and stakeholder requirements.
  • Ensuring the consistency and integrity of reporting information across the business.
  • Champion continuous improvement in data and information and manage change requirements.
  • Works with the Data & Insights team to ensure information needs are being met.
  • Collaborating with other business stakeholders to support and develop improved information literacy and availability.
  • Working with the Tech Development team to improve source data capture and master data consistency across transaction systems.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Develop a deep understanding of Petdirect’s commercials to ensure reporting and analysis appropriately reflect the underlying business.
  • Preparation and maintenance of standard business reporting  - daily, weekly, monthly - for wider business use, but also as the source of truth that all user reporting can be reconciled to.
  • Utilising Power BI for report development and analysis to assist with projects, investigations and ad-hoc reviews.
  • Development of new reports, KPIs and dashboards. 
  • Taking ownership of any department reports that are adopted as standard business reports for wider business use.
  • Assisting with commercial analysis, forecasts and insights to improve business performance and forecasts.

  WHAT EXPERIENCE YOU’LL HAVE:

  • 5+ years of experience in a Data Administrator, Analyst, Reporting, or similar role.
  • Excellent experience with data ingestion and engineering - utilising a variety of methods (API, interface, upload etc).
  • Deep experience with data management and business intelligence tools.
  • Whilst ideally, you will have some experience using Power BI, if you are ticking a lot of other boxes and back yourself to learn this tool - we’d love to hear from you.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, but with the ability to stand back and ensure big picture interlock.
  • Ability to understand and analyse commercial issues, and communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and meaningful way.
  • Advanced degree of computer literacy (MS Office products), BI software, Excel and other analytical or reporting tools.
